KATE SZYMANSKI

Counsellor & Facilitator

Kate is a trauma-informed counsellor who works with adults experiencing anxiety, burnout, overwhelm, and the impacts of complex trauma. Her approach is integrative and evidence-based, incorporating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness-based, somatic approaches, with a strong emphasis on nervous system regulation.

Kate brings a depth of experience through both her training and work as a facilitator with the Quest for Life Foundation, where she supports individuals to build emotional resilience, self-awareness, and practical strategies for managing stress and adversity.

She is also a Dru yoga teacher, involving 3 years of training, underpinning her expertise in mindfulness, meditation, and mindful movement. This informs her integrated approach to supporting regulation of the nervous system and strengthening mind–body awareness.

Kate’s work is further informed by her personal experience of a diagnosis of brain cancer, offering her a grounded and nuanced understanding of the psychological and emotional challenges associated with serious illness. She is particularly attuned to supporting individuals navigating health-related uncertainty, identity disruption, and recovery.

Her professional background includes many years in high-pressure corporate environments, including advertising agencies in New York, providing her with a strong understanding of the demands many clients face.

Kate works collaboratively with clients to support insight, emotional regulation, and meaningful, sustainable change.
