Mel takes a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach to therapy, with a focus on exploring how early childhood experiences and unmet needs impact the way we function in our relationships.
With experience conducting assessments and evidence-based interventions in the school and disability setting, Mel has a special interest in developmental neuroscience and supporting clients to recognise and calm a dysregulated nervous system. She is passionate about working with people who are seeking to break dysfunctional cycles and make changes that align with their values.
Within the person-centered approach, Mel acknowledges the impact that societal stressors and generational trauma have on the individual. She aims to help clients navigate the challenges of maintaining emotional wellbeing in a culture that often promotes isolation, burnout and disconnection from the self.
